Somewhat Functional

Well, today was almost as nice as yesterday was, and dragging my ass to the laundromat like I'd promised myself was one of the hardest things I've yet done, outside of the time I tried to dislodge a Lemonhead from my left nostril. (Long story.) Still, got that done, and now I have to do some cleaning and crap around the casa, along with some more editing. I have a friend coming to visit next month for a day or two (she's going to Orlando by way of Boston) and another friend coming for a couple of weeks in June, and I don't want either of them to say, thanks, but I'll just sleep under the porch if you don't mind. Damnit, that's where I get to sleep.

Posted another couple of pictures from my trip yesterday. Thought I was going to have to ride out to Portsmouth (about 12 to 14 km away) but I was able to do my business on the phone... you'll have to wait until this weekend for more pictures. One is just the view of I think St George's school from the Sachuest area in the southern part of this island, and the other is a mix of me being in a good mood when I took the picture and a bad mood when I Photoshopped it. It's from the same area as the Purgatory Chasm. I'll probably put up some more 'typical New England' pics, including some of the really beautiful New Hampshire seacoast, tomorrow or later on.

Nervous about my new manuscript. Saturday I finally get to look at it after nearly six weeks (one has to give oneself distance from these things) and I'm wondering if (one) it's better than I remember it being, and (two) it seriously sucks squirrel cohones. Rachel's been telling me that it's pretty good (she's one of the few I let read my unedited rough drafts... actually, for this one she's the only one... and I don't yet know if that's a good reflection on her, or if it's a sign of my willingness to torment one of my friends) but still, I'm my own worst critic. Plus, another writing mentoree wants me to read something at the Open Mic tonight downtown... she guilt-tripped me into it last time, so I probably will, but I just have no clue what to read, or what to write if I do a new one.

Alright, enough for now. Going to do a few things here, and maybe watch the director's cut of True Romance... or maybe Princess Mononoke, if it arrives in the mail today like it's supposed to.
