Well, my friends finally left Friday, and the major ceremony I was planning went off pretty nicely, as well. I think my body was waiting for both of those cues to shut down... I'm sicker today (well, Saturday) than I'd been all week. A couple of times, I even woke up twitching, and my fever's at 101. Of course, I have to work tomorrow, but that should go alright. I'll be off by 12.30, and if I'm feeling better (and the weather's good) I'll go wander around a bit... I bought new hiking boots (my ASOLOs that I bought in '96 finally gave up the ghost (or should I say 'sole'?) and my T-Lims turned out not to really be for hiking and I totally trashed them on the hike up Mt Fuji) and there are a lot of good, somewhat flat hikes around this state.
Yeah, right... I'll probably curl up in a little ball and try to get better.
My right foot's been getting better. I actually injured it Thursday AM. I wasn't really doing anything... just turned around to say something... and I felt this sharp pain up the side of my ankle. I've been babying it, and I couldn't run again this weekend. On the stupid side, I looked into the guidebook that helped me run my first marathon and it said, quite boldly, that you could still run a cut version of your training if you were sick, unless you had Flu or bronchitis... because of the weakened condition of your body, you'd be opening yourself up to ridiculous injury if you still ran with bad lungs.
Okay. Point taken. I just hope I'll be able to start up again on Tuesday. Any recommendations?
Reading The Winds of War still, but not for much longer. Can't put the damn thing down.
