Let's see how this week has treated me. I found out a few days ago that I may be going with my boss to the Phillipines for two weeks... he's a Chaplain, I'm a Chaplain's assistant, so I may just 'have' to spend two weeks of February in the tropics. Should be fun, but I'm kind of nervous about it... we'll probably be going to Mindanao, and while I've been in war zones before, I'm still not looking forward to it.
On other notes, I'm transferring to URI or Roger Williams (URI might be a better choice, but RW is closer) to get a BA in Mathematics. Yes, my original focus was on History, but, well, Math is more, much much more of a challenge, and I think I'd enjoy it a lot more. So for 'fun' I'm taking Trigonometry at CCRI here in Newport (the Community College) and going to try to speed through that, and Pre-Calc (which my advisors assure me can be done) by the end of the term, so I can spend my summer break in the Calculus, and in the fall, I'll only be nine classes short.
Music: just received two new CDs, one by the A-Frames (which reminds me of a more musical "The Fall" with heavy doses of "Joy Division" and "The Cows") and Kimya Dawson, a singer-songwriter that's fun and quirky. Both are bands that I first heard on AccuRadio's "Future Perfect" show. So much for Internet radio leading to piracy and loss of sales revenue, eh? Also got the new Futurama DVD, but last night, we watched Paprika again so I could make sure everyone in the household had seen it before taking it back to Blockbuster.
More later...
